Week 8 in Gent, Belgium
October 30, 2017
Hallo Family and Friends,
Finally getting recognized as the queen I am! |
This week was a great week! Zuster Weber and I had a lot of fun running around Belgium and celebrating many big things in Gent.
Last week for P-day we visited the castle which is actually inside of the city of Gent! It was super fun. Zuster Weber took a bijillion photos of it. Super cool place.
This week we also went back to Brussels to pick up some legal stuff and we had another fun day contacting in the Grand Place and eating delicious food.
This week the elders got a call from a school teacher who was previously in contact with some elders and asked if they could do a Q and A session with us about what we do. We said we would love to do it!
We taught 16 teens about the church, why we are here and what a mission means to us. It was a super cool experience to see teens interested in what we do and feel their appreciation. We also asked them questions about their culture and the school system here. It was a great way to share and learn more about each other.
Friday, we taught two lessons and I put two people on baptismal date! I nailed it this week!
McDonalds reopened after a long remodel and we celebrated the grand reopening by purchasing delicious chicken nuggets and a burger with fries. We love McDonalds.
We also went to a small Halloween party hosted by one of our ward members. It is great to get to know some ward members a little more! It was fun seeing a people do Halloween the American way.
Bea got confirmed on Sunday!!!!!!! We are so proud of her and she is jumping right into being a member. She is so happy and loves to talk to everyone! She is going to be a great member.
Well this week we taught more on the Book of Mormon. It truly is the best book ever. Lately I've been reading it and focusing on a word or two that I want to highlight throughout the Book of Mormon. I have focused on faith and repentance. Its super cool to see how often the Book of Mormon mentions those things. It has helped build my faith and it teaches me how I can repent.
Well I hope you all have a great week! We are so excited to celebrate Halloween! Europe really celebrates November 1st, which is All Saint’s Day. They decorate their graves with the most beautiful floral arrangements that put Valentine's Day to shame.
Have a great week and keep praying for missionaries everywhere! We need your faith and prayers.
Love,
Zuster Acheson
