Week #5 in Heerlen, Netherlands and Happy New Year!
Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!
Missionary work around the Holidays is super great but also super hard because everyone wants to spend time with their families! And we don't blame them! We are all about that family life, I mean I'm out here to help people have their own eternal families.
So we has some appointments this week with some less actives and some investigators but only one of them went through. That's missionary life.
One day we biking through snow and rain and got soaked. We had to bike home and change clothes because I thought I was going to die.
Ladies, if you are coming to this mission, pack MULTIPLE PAIRS OF THICK TIGHTS AND WOOL SOCKS. GET A GOOD PAIR OF BOOTS. YOU WILL THANK ME. Just because you wear 3 pairs of tights it does not mean you are going to be warm.
This week we had a very nice encounter with a Jehova's Witness. We were at an apartment complex and Lis came out and asked which church we were from and asked about what we believe. She invited us in and she let us warm up and we talked about the Bible and our beliefs. She was so kind and gave us treats! She just really enjoyed seeing other religious people teaching about God and Christ. Super nice. I don't think we will be teaching her. But we enjoyed our visit.
Other than that this week was pretty slow and cold, but it got really warm one day and that was nice.
Happy New Year!I know that if we make goals with the Lord we can accomplish them and do everything we need to do so we can become the person He wants us to be. The new year is such a special time to improve and come closer to Christ.
